The Wired

I'm currently downloading several Gb of add-ons for some software that is initially only 25Mb. Of course doing it from a business broadband package makes things much quicker. I've also tried out the software on one of the fancy workstations here and I've I've managed to overwork an nVidia Quadro FX4500. I may have to try it on a lower resolution. <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->



Now I can't leave the workstation running all weekend as the user will probably complain on Monday. So I'll just download the rest of the stuff to mine and transfer it over on Tues/Weds/Thurs when I have the whole office to myself as everyone is on a field trip in Dorset.

I've known it to take about half an hour just to load one page before! <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->



I have considered ordering a BB line directly to my office before. With the way our BT bills work, the only person that would even notice the charges would be the guy that checks and authorises the bills - and that would be me! <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I've worked for some companies with very strict IT policies before but my current company doesn't have any. Even if they did I now have full administrator rights.
