Wireless does work - the problem was the clients.



1. Red's PC doesn't do WPA because the Asus card he's got doesn't support it on Windows 2000, only on XP



2. My laptop is just shit and never works any more - I've now got it working with a 11Mb USB dongle but the PC card just won't work any more



3. KW's PDA always works no problem!



4. My old K6 always works no problem!

OK I think I've decided the karting is just too expensive at the moment - especially since I just spent ?200 on my new PC. Besides; Lady K and Matt have only just done it (you know what I mean!) so I think it makes sense to arange that for another time. I suggest maybe next year we could go to MK and have a good time on the outdoors track. There's a chance of getting a few people off Strawberry Crush there too, since the other Matt lives there - we could have a competition maybe <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->



So for the 24th the plan so far is:



1. Get to Silly Central some time before Saturday tea time - Friday is OK if it makes travelling easier.



2. Eat, Drink and be merry.



If anyone wants to bring their rig or lappy then that's cool; but last time we didn't do a lot of gaming. I'll have 3 half decent PCs and a laptop which can all play Q3 Arena, so maybe we could play capture the flag. I suggest the best plan is no plan, and see what happens <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->



There will be Pie! Or maybe flan...

Cool, I was starting to think the karting would add to the cost and eat into my non-funds, if there is such a word. Anyways I think that transport, beers and food should be enough for some fun, just like last time. As I will have finished work by then I won't have a laptop either, and the best I could offer would be a PIII 733MHz behemouth.
