It was a huge order, and now every cupboard is overflowing. It took me nearly an hour to unload the truck and put everything away!

Only two things not according to plan:

1. They ran out of Peperoni Pizza, so we have one normal and one deep-pan. The deep pan is 30% smaller for the same price, but it's "stone baked" whatever that means. I'll be rearranging the meat and adding stuff anyway, so it's all variation. I'm sure we'll live!

2. I ordered a joint of meat I hadn't bought before. On my order it says:

"T Large Vacuum Pack Shoulder Joint Each ?- ?3.00 "

I should have noticed the word "Large" - that was "?3 per KG" so I actually have a nearly 3KG roasting joint to make the stir fry with <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

I'll probably trim off the best looking bits for Friday, and then roast the huge hunk on Sunday.

I think everything went according to plan, if not entirely according to schedule <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

Mrs Red arrived at 4:30pm, and we opened the wine. We got through two bottles before KW arrived, and a third before Mr Red turned up a little later than planned. We finished the forth bottle over dinner.

Then we started the drinking. My memories are a little blurry from this point, but I'm sure I had fun <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

I got to bed at 6:30am and slept in until 1:30pm. I think we finally had the pizza about 2:30pm with mugs of tea, and I thought it was pretty good.

The only leftover was a single piece of garlic bread and a bag of slightly stale doughnuts, so I guess I got the quantities about right. I'm pretty sure no one went hungry <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

The next one will be in the middle of summer. If it's nice weather, then I'll do a barbecue with great hunks of smouldering meat <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

I suddenly decided I wanted to go to the beach, so I started a thread on x404. It already looks like there's quite a few people in Cornwall who might be up for it. I'll be driving, but I'll only have 3.6 passenger seats.

I messaged Jon but he's not answered yet. I think maybe a few of the others live close enough to bus, or have their own transport. However; I would be driving right past Jon's door and also KW and the Reds.

So anyway. Beach party?

We just realised yesterday that the 20th (Perranporth visit proposal date) is the Fathers Day weekend, which puts a bit of a different spin on our schedule. We haven't definitely decided anything yet, but it's looking like a bit of a change of plans will be called for <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />

Unfortunately, that was the only week all three of the Cornish guys could make <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />

Well, the beach party didn't happen. Pretty much no one could make it in the end, partly because of Father's day - or in my case, general knackeredness.

I do still want to go though. It's my birthday next month, and I'm being indecisive about what to do. I usually just hold a gathering at my place, which I usually enjoy. It's relaxed and easy for me. However - I really fancy the beach!

Perhaps we can do both. Any good / bad weekends for people in July?

Beach party sounds good, and it'd be a shame to miss out on it. Then again, your house parties are always good.

I think I shall suggest the "House party" first, and then think about the beech some more - in consultation with the other place.

So, good old fashioned birthday party with strawberry jelly and ice cream next weekend?

I might BBQ a few bits, and there will be plenty of pie and salad type things. That was I can do most of the prep on Friday and only need to play with fire and knives on Saturday.
